The Science of Skin 

Living skin cells are opaque, while dead skin cells are translucent. It takes time for your skin to fully regenerate: 

For most areas, 5–8 weeks are needed for skin to heal completely. 

For lips, the healing process can take up to 12 weeks to fully regenerate the epidermis layers. 

 

After this healing period, you’ll notice your permanent makeup artwork beautifully coming back to life. Patience is key, and the results are worth the wait! 

 

Phases of Permanent Makeup Healing 

Understanding the healing process is essential to achieving the best results from your permanent makeup procedure. Each phase lasts approximately a few days to 7+ days. 

 

What to Expect: 

Initial Darkening: Immediately after your procedure, the pigment will appear darker and more intense. 

Lightening: As the healing process begins, the pigment will gradually lighten as the skin starts to scab and peel. 

Disappearance Phase: At some points, it may seem as though the pigment has disappeared. This is a normal part of the process. 

Reappearance: Once your skin is fully healed, the pigment will reappear, revealing your final results.

Skip Makeup & Skincare: Refrain from applying any makeup, creams, or skincare products to your eyebrows for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.

Hydrate: Drink 8–10 glasses of water daily to keep your skin hydrated. 

Avoid Sun Exposure & Tanning: For at least two weeks, avoid direct sun exposure, tanning beds, and sunburns on your face. 

Avoid Blood-Thinners: Refrain from consuming alcohol, caffeine, aspirin, ibuprofen, or fish oil for 24–48 hours before your procedure. 

Skip Botox or Fillers: Don’t schedule Botox or fillers in the brow area for at least 4 weeks before your procedure. 

Avoid Brow Tweezing, Waxing, or Tinting: Let your brows grow naturally for at least four to six weeks to help achieve the best shape. 

Plan for Recovery: Expect redness, swelling, and tenderness after your procedure. Don’t schedule major events immediately after your session. 

Consult Your Doctor: If you are on any medications, particularly blood thinners, consult your doctor before booking. 

 

Eyebrow Permanent Makeup Post-Care 

Keep Clean: Wash your hands before touching your brows. Use a fragrance-free cleanser like Cetaphil or CeraVe to gently clean your eyebrows. 

Apply Aftercare: Apply the aftercare product provided, using a thin layer twice daily for up to two weeks. 

Avoid Touching: Do not rub, pick, or scratch your brows. 

Limit Water Exposure: Keep your brows dry as much as possible during the healing phase. 

Avoid Makeup: Do not use makeup or brow products for 7–10 days post-procedure. 

Avoid Sauna & Swimming: Refrain from swimming and saunas during the healing period. 

Stay Out of Sun: Protect your brows from direct sun exposure for at least 2 weeks after your procedure. 

No Exfoliants or Anti-Aging Products: Avoid these until healing is complete. 

 

 

Eyeliner Tattoo Pre-Care 

Avoid Eye Makeup: Don’t wear mascara or eyeliner on the day of the procedure. 

Cleanse the Area: Make sure your eyes are makeup-free before your appointment. 

Remove Contact Lenses: Take out your contact lenses before the procedure. 

Avoid Caffeine & Alcohol: Minimize caffeine and alcohol intake before your appointment to reduce skin sensitivity.

Eyeliner Tattoo Post-Care 

Keep Clean: Cleanse the treated area gently with lukewarm water and a mild, unscented cleanser. Pat dry with a clean tissue. 

Apply Healing Ointment: Apply a thin layer of the recommended healing ointment 2–3 times a day for up to 7 days. 

Avoid Makeup: Do not apply makeup to the treated area for 3–5 days post-procedure. 

Sun Protection: Stay out of the sun for at least 48 hours. After healing, use SPF 30+ on exposed areas. 

Avoid Heat & Sweat: Refrain from hot showers, saunas, and intense workouts for 24–48 hours. 

Avoid Swimming: No swimming in pools or hot tubs for at least 14 days. 

Avoid Tight Clothing: Wear loose-fitting clothing for the first 24 hours to minimize irritation. 

Avoid Rubbing or Scratching: Do not rub or scratch the treated area to prevent irritation. 

 

 

Lip Blush and Lipstick Tattoo Pre-Care 

Exfoliate: Gently exfoliate your lips 3–5 days before the procedure. 

Moisturize: Apply lip balm daily to keep your lips hydrated. 

Hydrate: Drink 8–10 glasses of water per day to ensure proper hydration. 

Avoid Makeup: Do not wear lipstick for 72 hours before your appointment. 

Avoid Caffeine, Alcohol, & Fish Oil: Refrain from these substances 24 hours prior to your procedure. 

Avoid Lip Filler or Implants: Wait 6 weeks after lip fillers or 6 months after implants. 

Sun Protection: Avoid sun exposure and tanning for at least two weeks before the procedure. 

Take Antiviral Medication: If prone to cold sores, take antiviral medication as recommended by your doctor. 

 

Lip Blush and Lipstick Tattoo Post-Care 

Keep Clean: Gently clean the area with a mild, unscented cleanser and lukewarm water. Pat dry. 

Apply Aftercare: Apply a thin layer of the healing ointment 2–3 times a day. 

Avoid Lipstick: Do not apply lipstick for at least 7 days. 

Avoid Sun Exposure: Stay out of the sun and avoid tanning for at least two weeks. 

Avoid Swimming & Hot Tubs: For 14 days, avoid swimming or using hot tubs. 

No Exfoliants or Retinol: Skip these products until your lips are fully healed.

3D Areola Tattoo Pre-Care 

Hydrate & Moisturize: Keep the treated area well-hydrated and moisturized. 

Avoid Exfoliants & Retinoids: Skip any exfoliating products or retinol at least 2 weeks before your procedure. 

Consult Your Doctor: If you have any underlying health conditions or are on medication, consult your doctor before booking. 

 

3D Areola Tattoo Post-Care 

Avoid Scratching or Rubbing: Refrain from touching, picking, or scratching the treated area to prevent irritation and scarring. 

Keep Area Dry & Clean: Cleanse gently and keep the area dry to promote proper healing. 

Apply Aftercare: Use the provided aftercare ointment twice a day. 

Avoid Sun Exposure: Stay out of direct sunlight for at least 2 weeks. 

Avoid Swimming & Hot Tubs: For 14 days, avoid swimming or using hot tubs. 

Limit Activity: Avoid heavy workouts and any activities that cause excessive sweating for 7–10 days. 

 

Note: 

Healing is a gradual process, and scabbing, flaking, or slight color changes are completely normal. Please trust the healing journey, and contact your artist if you have any concerns or questions along the way. 

 

 

 

PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP APPLICATION PRE/POST CARE 

 

PreCare: 

Proper preparation before your professional makeup application ensures that your skin is in optimal condition, leading to a smoother and longer-lasting result. 

Cleanse Your Skin 

Cleanse your face thoroughly to remove any dirt, oil, or residual makeup. Clean skin allows for better makeup application and longevity. 

Hydrate 

Apply a gentle moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated. Well-moisturized skin will make your makeup look fresh and smooth throughout the day. 

Avoid Exfoliation 

Avoid exfoliating your skin 2-3 days before your appointment. Exfoliation can cause sensitivity and may result in uneven makeup application. 

Avoid Heavy Skin Treatments 

Refrain from any skin treatments such as facials, peels, or microdermabrasion 48 hours prior to your makeup appointment. These treatments may leave your skin irritated and can interfere with makeup adhesion. 

Come Makeup-Free 

Arrive without makeup on your face to ensure a clean canvas for your makeup artist. This will allow for smoother and more accurate application. 

Plan for Relaxation 

Make sure to give yourself some time to relax before your appointment. Stress can affect your skin, causing redness or irritation, so try to relax before your session. 

Inform Your Artist of Skin Concerns

Avoid Sweating 

Try to avoid excessive sweating for at least 4-6 hours after your makeup application. Sweat can cause makeup to break down and diminish its staying power. 

Keep Skin Hydrated 

Hydrate your skin by drinking water, but avoid applying heavy moisturizers or oils directly on top of your makeup. Instead, opt for a setting spray or a light mist to refresh your makeup without disturbing it. 

Avoid Water Exposure 

Avoid direct contact with water (such as washing your face, swimming, or excessive sweating) for the first few hours after your makeup is applied to allow the makeup to settle and set. 

Don’t Sleep with Makeup On 

It’s important to remove all makeup before going to bed to prevent clogged pores and skin irritation. Use a gentle makeup remover or cleansing wipe to ensure your skin stays clean overnight. 

Touch Up as Needed 

Carry a compact or small setting spray with you for quick touch-ups throughout the day to maintain your look, especially if you have oily skin or tend to sweat. 

Avoid Harsh Skin Treatments 

Avoid exfoliating, waxing, or using any harsh skin treatments for at least 48 hours after your makeup application to allow your skin to remain undisturbed. 

Remove Makeup Gently

Avoid Moisturizers and Oils 

Skip lotions, creams, and oils on the day of your appointment, as they can interfere with the wax adhering to the hair. 

 

Avoid Sun Exposure 

Stay out of the sun and avoid tanning beds for at least 48 hours before waxing to prevent irritation or burns on sun-sensitive skin. 

 

Avoid Caffeine or Alcohol 

Reduce your intake of caffeine and alcohol before your appointment to minimize skin sensitivity during waxing.
